Updates your GoPro with the latest features for optimal performance.Comes bundled with GoPro Studio for more advanced editing.Simple video trimming tools make it easy to create and share short clips.HiLight Tags help you quickly find your best moments.Includes powerful features for viewing and editing burst and time-lapse photos.Optimized for offloading, organizing and sharing GoPro photos and videos.A non-linear editor (like Adobe Premiere and Apple Final Cut X) will allow you far more control and the most options, but for those just getting started, or for super quick edits for family or friends, faster and easier can sometimes be the way to go. The new GoPro App for Desktop works with both PCs and Mac, and is designed to make it incredibly simple to offload, organize, highlight, and quickly edit/upload videos taken with any GoPro camera. BUT there is a menu option Files/Preferences (or something like that) That just simply deletes the project and goes to the settings page! Nevermind the fact that you should be able to bring up the settings page without having to delete/save your project.Though GoPro has had the Studio app for quite some time, they've just recently introduced an app that is even easier to use. And Save saves your project and goes to the settings page. Delete will delete your current project and goes to the settings page. Closing the dialog closes the dialog but does nothing else. On example: Click on the settings button and it asks you in a dialog "Save or Delete" with an option to close the dialog. Not what I would choose to use, but not bad. But you might want to try to manually update it(basically copy the firmware to the USB card) I've never used Studio to update the camera, didn't realize you could do that. I can only guess that Karma and the Karma grip will also have issues, but I'll leave that post for the future.Įdit: This sub has 52 000 users!!! Where else is GoPro going to find that kind of focused "user base" and perhaps have a team dedicated to reading these posts (even ghost members) to show the company Leadership what's going on (and not going on) with their products. I see the same issues repeating themselves over and over again, with no resolution in sight. Just another example of a GoPro failure to really understand their user.Īwhile ago I was contacted by a GoPro employee who said "wait for the upcoming releases before really criticizing.". The app has had four updates since initial release a few weeks ago and not one of them addresses this issue. Why should a user be forced to create an account and log into an app, just to use the basic functions of their camera?!? That baffles a lot of people on this sub, and I'm sure other GoPro users in general. Their manufacturing/engineering also suffers from what I would call a poor QA process, where a high number of brand new cameras are returned due to malfunction. Their software division is relatively new, so to speak and I don't think the leadership of the company has been great from the outset, which just compounds the issue.Ĭoupled with that, I don't think they actually do any in-house focus groups where users are allowed to play with things and find all the problems, then fix them before release. It's been a longstanding issue for GoPro.
